Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced IT System Administrator to manage our manufacturing facility's digital infrastructure.
You will ensure high availability, security, and performance of both corporate networks and production-floor systems (OT/ICS).
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure & System Management
- Manage Servers: Maintain physical and virtual servers (VMware/Hyper-V) across enterprise and production environments.
- Network Administration: Configure firewalls, switches, VLANs, and VPNs to ensure secure data flow.
- Storage & Backup: Oversee SAN/NAS storage, executing strict backup protocols and disaster recovery plans.
- Cloud Integration: Administer hybrid cloud infrastructure, focusing on Microsoft 365 and Azure/AWS.
Manufacturing & Shop Floor Support
- OT Convergence: Bridge the gap between IT infrastructure and Operational Technology (OT), including PLC and SCADA networks.
- System Availability: Maintain 24/7 uptime for Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
- Device Management: Support industrial PCs, barcode scanners, label printers, and IoT sensors on the production line.
Security, Compliance & Maintenance
- Cybersecurity: Implement endpoint protection, access controls, and patch management to safeguard intellectual property.
- Audit Compliance: Maintain documentation for IT governance, licensing, and industry-specific security standards.
- Vendor Management: Coordinate with external ISPs, hardware vendors, and software providers for maintenance and upgrades.
Required Qualifications
Experience & Education
- Years of Experience: 6–10 years in IT systems administration, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Technical Skills
- Operating Systems: Advanced knowledge of Windows Server (2019/2022) and Linux distributions.
- Networking: Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols, switching, and industrial network security.
- Virtualization: Proven expertise with VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V.
- Manufacturing Tech: Familiarity with ERP (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Infor) and shop-floor automation systems.
Soft Skills
- Problem Solving: Ability to troubleshoot critical production-stopping infrastructure issues under pressure.
- Communication: Clear verbal and written skills to collaborate with both corporate executives and plant operators
